Hair Care Guide
All Hair: Raw or Virgin, requires maintenance and with this in mind, I have created an easy-to-read guide for caring for your Laceometry wigs and hair extensions.
Our Raw Hair is completely natural which means it has not been altered or chemically processed in any way shape or form and requires the same careful process as you would when caring for your own hair. Therefore, we highly recommend that all of our customers utilise this guide.
Caring for hair prior to installation
During shipment please note that the hair/ extensions can move around in the box. Therefore, all orders are packaged carefully in protected packaging bags or hair nets. Despite this preventative measure, we still recommend brushing the hair from the very tip to the roots gently with a Denman brush/ detangling brush.
All extensions arrive washed, styled and ready to wear so there is no need to wash bundles, lace pieces or wigs on arrival. Please be sure to adjust the parting where necessary or request the lace to be cut prior to shipping.
Washing the hair after installation
1.) Prior to washing the hair, please ensure it is detangled properly. This can be done by using a wide toothcomb or denman detangling brush.
2.) Fully submerge the hair in warm water however if the hair has previously been coloured we suggest you opt for lukewarm water instead to avoid stripping out excess colour.
3.) Once the hair is completely wet you can then squeeze out the excess water and apply shampoo. We recommend using moisturising shampoo's and conditioners. 'Tresemme Luxurious Moisture' Shampoo & Conditioner is a great affordable option and can be purchased from most high street stores..
4.) After applying shampoo, gently work up a lather throughout the hair ensuring additional care and attention is taken when washing the lace.
5.) Once your shampoo has been been rinsed out of the hair apply a generous amount of conditioner throughout the hair. Detangle hair from the tip to the root and allow the hair to sit for 5-10 minutes. *Please note that the conditioner should only be rinsed from the hair once it is completely detangled for best results.
6.) Gently pat dry your wig with a towel and allow to air dry overnight. We do not recommend using a hairdryer to remove excess water.
7.) Once the hair is dry, you can begin to restyle the unit. Be sure to apply a heat protectant when using hot tools and opt for non-oil-based products.
